I just learned of the "Ayris," a track from the Pittsburgh area, a few weeks ago when I met the singer. And frankly, I'm glad I did.
Track "Ayris" not six EP "We Bleed Red" is exactly new, but it's still very worth adding to your CD collection.
With respect to each individual track is the first song "Nightly I Come Softly Killing one more thing a faint sound at first, but builds up to a growing command. The band followed this up with "submerged", an intense piece, with a very interesting use of light distortion. Next is "vaccine" that seems to channel the essence of rock at the beginning and continues with ideas of a dark reality. His infectious sense trails off with an extended instrumental. Fourth song is called "The Hunter". This presents a good balance of poignant lyrics and clever musical precision. Finally, the last song "We Bleed Red", which is presented in both standard and acoustic versions of PE, has a totally different feel and focus heavily on a major social problem.
Collectively, the album is very good. One of the first things that stand out is the quality of the production process. Many local bands and solo artists seem to have this very basic in their work.
The captivatingly haunting vocals of lead singer Allie Nickel up to something of an album of dark beauty. A band as a whole this compound, with his own mesmerizing sound. It is so unique in the fact that it is difficult even to get an idea what the artists may have played a role in inspiring the creation of "Ayris.
Nickel, whose vocals range from a whisper, low near powerful and seemingly inspired rock, is also the talent behind the letters.
All in all, "Ayris" seems to be a very talented group and could only pass the experience great success.
